But at least they have one life remaining; the Sylvan Lake Admirals bowed out of the picture Saturday night at Stony Plain, where the host Eagles prevailed 4-3 in overtime to complete a sweep of the best-of-seven semifinal.

Meawhile, the Generals ventured north to Horse Lake and dropped 3-0 and 6-3 decisions to the Chiefs Saturday and Sunday and trail the other best-of-seven semifinal 3-1.

Jase Weslosky pitched a shutout for the Chiefs Saturday, stopping all 28 shots he faced as the home team got two goals from Ryan McLeod and a single from Tyler Shantz. Travis Yonkman made 15 saves for Bentley.

The series continues Friday at 8:30 p.m. in Bentley.

• Brand Middleton’s overtime marker lifted the Eagles over the Admirals Saturday night and ended the series.

Ernie Stewart, Cody Esposito and Brett Holmberg scored for the Admirals, who got a 35-save performance from Nathan Deobald. Brandon Skinner, Curtis Smith and Scott Drewicki had the other goals for Stony Plain and winning netminder Derek Shybunka stopped 26 shots.

The Eagles set themselves up for the series sweep with a 5-3 victory Friday at Sylvan Lake, where Jordan Ceh tallied twice for the winners and Middleton, Blair Zahara and Blair Hennes also connected.

Replying for the Admirals were Stewart, with two goals, and Holmberg.

Stony Plain stopper Dave Rathjen made 35 saves, with Deobald and Jordan Ramstead combining to stop 29 shots at the other end.
