“We are extremely excited to have had the opportunity to sign Dustin,” said Grizzlys head coach Brett Hopfe in a press release. “He is a big power forward who has championship experience. We expect him to be a key player for us next year as we look to fill some key roles offensively.”

The Grizzlys also traded defenceman Connar Bass to the Calgary Mustangs as part of a futures deal made on Dec. 1 of last year, signed ‘96-born defenceman Nikolas Koberstein of Barrhead and carded ‘97-born defenceman/winger Chaydan Lauber of Brooks.

Koberstein, a 2011 Western Hockey League bantam draft pick of the Regina Pats, scored once and added 11 assists in 34 games with the midget AAA St. Albert Raiders last season.

The Grizzlys carded Lauber following their spring camp this year. He played three games with the Grizzlys as a 15-year-old during the 2012-13 season and impressed Hopfe.

Lauber had 24 points (12-12) in 32 games with the minor midget AAA Southeast Hounds last winter.

The new players will participate in the Grizzlys annual golf tournament July 26 at Central Highlands.
