CAMROSE ­— The RDC Queens didn’t draw an easy opponent for their opening game of the season.

The Queens faced the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns in the Augustana University tournament, losing 83-54 Thursday.

“A tough first game, but we out rebounded them and once we got a little comfortable together started to play better,” said Queens head coach Dawn Smyth. “It was a good way to start as it showed some of our strengths and things we need to work on.”

Sara Astorga led the Queens with 14 points and six rebounds while Karlen Majcher had 10 points.

Queens face Concordia University College today at 3 p.m.
