After losing the opening game of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Association season, the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens have been on a roll.
The Queens won a pair of games over the weekend to move to 3-1 on the year. They knocked off the Medicine Hat College Rattlers Saturday with an 8-2 before downing the Lethbridge College Kodiaks Sunday 2-1.
In Saturday's win, McKenna Leslie posted a hat trick, while Cara Lord, Paige Kalbfleisch, Mikayla Fujimoto, Alisha Coules and Kennedy Van Arragon each added a goal.
Sunday, Olivia Lundell opened the scoring in the 16th minute, before Coules added another tally in the 60th. Khloe Jankowiak scored for the Kodiaks in the 84th minute to cut the deficit.
The RDP Kings picked up a 3-2 Saturday, before earning a 2-2 draw Sunday.
In Saturday's victory, Ajdin Sarcevic scored in the 24th minute and Grant Johnson extended the advantage two minutes later. Joao Cintra struck just before the half in the 43rd minute, but Johnson restored the Kings lead in the 57th. Cintra had the other tally for the Rattlers in the 89th minute.
In Sunday's draw, the Kings again jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Sarcevic buried in the 21st minute before Jaxon Fernandes got the second half started with a goal of his own in the 51st minute.
Bronson Schlichter scored in the 86th minute to cut the deficit for the Kodiaks and in the 90th minute, Wilson Ntignee buried the equalizer.
With the draw, the Kings are now 1-1-2 on the year.
Both the Kings and Queens will play at Olds College on Sept. 21.
