Defenceman Keith McInnis will join his hometown Red Deer Rebels for the 2025-26 Western Hockey League season.
On Friday, June 20, the club announced the Red Deer native has signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The 19-year-old was selected by the Rebels in the fifth round at the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
After playing with the Waterloo Black Hawks in the United States Hockey League in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, McInnis joined the Brooks Bandits in the 2023-24 season. He played for the Bandits this past season as well, winning the British Columbia Hockey League championship.
The six-foot-one, 195-pound defender collected 53 points in 77 regular season games (19 goals and 34 assists) during his two years with the Bandits. He also co-led all BCHL blue liners in playoff scoring this spring with 17 points (seven goals and 10 assists) in 21 games.
He is already committed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs, which is a NCAA Division I club.
