Four athletes from the U15A Red Deer Chiefs will represent Alberta at the 2025 U15 Box Lacrosse Nationals in Halifax, N.S. this August.

This week, the Red Deer Lacrosse Association (RDLA) announced Red Deer's Bayze Salkus and Sylvan Lake's Zoe Bowen will play for the U15 female team, and Blackfalds' Kobin Lampard and Olds' Lucas Seidel of Olds have secured their places on the U15 male team.

“This is a huge moment for RDLA and a reflection of the talent that’s growing right here in central Alberta,” said Amy Cozens, President of the RDLA board.

“To have four players from our program make Team Alberta shows just how far we’ve come. With athletes like Bayze, Zoe, Kobin and Lucas leading the way, the future of our program is incredibly bright.”

All four players are part of the U15A Red Deer Chiefs. Head coach Collin Lampard says it's rewarding to see these four players recognized at this level.

“Bayze, Zoe, Kobin and Lucas are not only strong players today, they have enormous potential for the future," said Lampard.

"Competing at Nationals will challenge them, help them grow and give them exposure to the highest level of play in their age group. This experience is going to take their game to the next level. I am thrilled for these four athletes finding the next level, and carrying on the strong showing from central Alberta lately.”

The 2025 U15 Box Lacrosse National Championships will bring together the top young talent from across the country. In a media release, the RDLA stated it is "thrilled" to have local athletes competing at the event.

Just a few weeks ago, the RDLA announced three of its players — Innisfail's Luc Catudal, Red Deer's Kian Siemens and Blackfalds' Tyrell Strauss — will represent Alberta at the 2025 Canada Summer Games. These three players are part of the U17A Red Deer Chiefs.
