Madden Daneault led the way for the Red Deer U15AAA Rebels in their lone game over the weekend in Alberta Elite Hockey League action.
Daneault had a hat trick in a 6-3 victory over the Calgary Northstars, handing the visitors their first loss of the season. Daneault added two assists for a five-point afternoon and is 10th in league scoring with 10 points through five games. Jevin Morrison also had a big game, with a goal and three assists. Jaxon Jaffray added a goal and an assist and Brock Dubitz also had a goal. Jace Lasing had 27 saves in the win for Red Deer. The Rebels are 3-1 on the year and will play a pair of road games next weekend.
The Red Deer Optimist Chiefs lost a pair of games last weekend. They lost 6-3 to the Airdrie CFR Bisons and 4-3 in overtime to the Calgary Bisons on the road Saturday. In Saturday's OT loss, Ryder Wicks, Tavish Beagle and Crew Martinson all had goals. Kohen Lodge also had two assists, while William Steingart made 40 saves in the loss.
