Employee pricing: what it is and how you save

Is employee pricing a good deal for consumers? And how can dealers afford these offers?

Rod Oszust and the team at Southside Dodge have great deals right now including employee pricing, 0% financing and a loyalty rebate!

You’ve seen the ads for employee pricing, but what does it mean?

“Employee pricing is when dealers offer consumers the same price that they give employees,” says Rod Oszust of Southside Dodge. “Manufacturers give dealers better prices on vehicles for many reasons — it can be good advertising for the brand, and it can also be part of employee compensation packages. When dealers offer employee pricing, consumers are potentially saving thousands of dollars.”

Employee pricing is a great deal for consumers — probably the best price you’ll get for a new vehicle, especially if you hate haggling. So why do dealers offer it?

“Dealers receive an incentive from the manufacturer from every car they sell, and there are also volume bonuses when we reach monthly targets,” Oszust says. “Our volume bonus from Chrysler offsets selling it at invoice.”

Increased demand for pre-owned vehicles

You’re more likely to find employee pricing on domestic brands, and Chrysler offers these deals most often. Right now they’re offering many models at 0% financing, which saves you even more money.

“Chrysler offers the consumer both savings at once, which is very uncommon!” Oszust says. “With 0% financing you don’t pay any interest, so it’s similar to paying cash for the car — except you only have to pay a little every month.”

Other changes in the auto industry can mean greater savings for new car shoppers.

“Trade in values have gone way way up. Due to the shortage of preowned vehicles at the dealer auctions, customers are being paid more for their vehicle than ever before,” Oszust says. With surging demand for quality preowned vehicles in both the United States and Canada, all dealers are on the hunt. “Taking in a customer’s current trade makes the most sense for everyone involved.”

Southside Dodge offers free trade appraisals, and is committed to offering the best price in town on your trade in. The dealership has been a staple in Red Deer since 1971, and is consistently voted “Best of Red Deer” by Advocate readers, so you can feel comfortable in the no-pressure environment.

Loyalty rebate

In addition to employee pricing and 0% financing, Chrysler is offering up to $2000 in a loyalty rebate.

“All a customer has to do is provide documentation they are making payments on the vehicle and still own it. The customer does not have to be trading in the vehicle to qualify for this rebate. Anyone in the household can qualify for the rebate, if there is more than one vehicle owner living at the same address,” Oszust says.
