16-year-old girl ’gang raped’ at rave, photos posted to Facebook: RCMP

The RCMP say a 16-year-old British Columbia girl was drugged and “gang raped” at a weekend rave and photos of the assault were posted to Facebook.

MAPLE RIDGE, B.C. — The RCMP say a 16-year-old British Columbia girl was drugged and “gang raped” at a weekend rave and photos of the assault were posted to Facebook.

Insp. Derren Lench says the attack has police investigating both the assault and charges related to distributing and possessing child pornography.

The assault happened last weekend at a rave on a rural property near Maple Ridge, east of Vancouver, where the girl was drugged and several people had sex with her while onlookers took photos.

There have been no arrests connected to the rape, but Lench says the alleged attackers are both minors and adults.

The photos were posted to Facebook and have since spread, and the original poster, a 16-year-old boy, has been arrested and released.

Lench says police have managed to have some of the photos taken down, but they’ve been re-posted by other users and he’s urging everyone to stop distributing what he says is unquestionably child pornography.
