30+ cars derail east of Regina; big mess to clean, but no injuries

GRENFELL, Sask. — The cleanup has begun after more than 30 rail cars derailed about 90 kilometres east of Regina.

It happened Thursday night after a westbound Canadian Pacific Railway train collided with a grain truck on a grid road near Grenfell.

Grain and corn was strewn in the ditch after the accident.

Officials say there were no hazardous materials inside any of the cars and no one was injured.

RCMP and Canadian Pacific Railway are investigating.
