Cables that will support a new retractable roof converge at the centre of B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver, B.C., on Wednesday. The old air supported roof has been removed and is being replaced with the world’s largest cable-supported retractable roof. Thirty-six masts will support the roof fabric that will take 20 minutes to open or close above the field area. The stadium will play host to this year’s Grey Cup and is scheduled to re-open on September 30, 2011 when the CFL’s B.C. Lions host the Edmonton Eskimos.
