Boy, 16, charged with second-degree murder in death of man, 21, in Regina home

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree murder and assault in the death of a 21-year-old at a Regina home early Saturday morning.

REGINA — A 16-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree murder and assault in the death of a 21-year-old at a Regina home early Saturday morning.

Police say they were called to the home to a report of an assault in progress.

The man, whose name hasn’t yet been released, was taken to hospital with several serious injuries but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police say the teen is charged with assault causing bodily harm in connection with an assault on an 18-year-old woman earlier that day.

The boy, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was expected to make a court appearance today on the charges.
