A Regina man accused of killing a fellow student at a Wisconsin university has been kicked off the school’s hockey team.

REGINA — A Regina man accused of killing a fellow student at a Wisconsin university has been kicked off the school’s hockey team.

Jared Britton, 23, of Regina and 21-year-old Jed McGlasson of Kenai, Alaska, were charged Sept. 24 with being party to a felony murder and battery.

The chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Stout released a memo to staff and students stating Britton won’t play for the team this year.

The memo says Britton and McGlasson are also barred from reinstatement to the team in the future.

Police allege Britton shoved Bradley Simon while he was riding a bike, causing him to strike his head on a cement wall, outside a bar near the university campus on Sept. 18.

Simon died in hospital a few days later.
