DRUMMOND, N.B. — A colleague says a New Brunswick farmer was detained in Lebanon while delivering a shipment of potatoes to the Middle Eastern country.

Joe Brennan of Potatoes New Brunswick says Henk Tepper is being held in Lebanon, but he didn’t know why.

Brennan confirms the Grand Falls-area farmer was accompanying a load of potatoes to the country and says efforts are being made to resolve it.

But Brennan, who did not want to comment further, says it’s not clear why Tepper was stopped.

Tepper is listed as the owner of Tobique Farms in Drummond.
