PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Mounties in British Columbia are remaining tight-lipped as they search a property near Prince George as part of what they call one of their “historical homicide” investigations.

RCMP Cpl. Annie Linteau says officers have converged on an eight-hectare property and expect to be on the scene for several days.

Linteau says investigators are searching for evidence that pertains to a historical homicide, though she wouldn’t provide further details.

Linteau won’t say what led investigators to the property, though she stressed the current property owners aren’t believed to have any connection to the case.

When asked how far back the case dates, Linteau would say only the homicide didn’t occur in the past year.

Prince George is located about 800 kilometres north of Vancouver.
