Greenpeace activists protest outside Hydro Quebec offices in Montreal Wednesday demanding the closure of Gentilly-2, Quebec’s only nuclear generating station. Police said eight people were arrested in two separate protests. Four people were arrested at Hydro-Quebec’s Montreal headquarters after chaining themselves to a door. Two others were also detained after climbing onto a small roof over the doorway. The six face charges of trespassing. There were two more arrests at public hearings being held in Becancour by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.

A man was arrested after he tossed a pie in the face of a Hydro-Quebec official, while another was nabbed for chanting anti-nuclear slogans.
