Saskatchewan boy, 14, who was not wearing helmet, dies in ATV crash

RCMP say a 14-year-old boy from Pierceland, Sask., is dead after losing control of the all terrain vehicle he was driving.

PIERCELAND, Sask. — RCMP say a 14-year-old boy from Pierceland, Sask., is dead after losing control of the all terrain vehicle he was driving.

He was not wearing a helmet.

Police say it appears the youth was thrown from the ATV Thursday morning and was pinned under the machine.

When he failed to come home people in the area went looking for him and found him dead.

The provincial coroner and RCMP continue to investigate.

Pierceland is in west-central Saskatchewan.
