1995 time capsule will be opened in Red Deer next week

Winter Games torch bearers to be announced

The contents of the 1995 Canada Winter Games time capsule will be revealed at the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum on Jan. 15.

Items in the AGT Spirit of Alberta March of Champions Time Capsule were collected by the 1995 Canada Winter Games torchbearers as they travelled through 16 Alberta communities on their way to the games in Grand Prairie.

The capsule was to be opened the next time an Alberta city hosted the Canada Winter Games.

The contents will be displayed at the museum throughout the 2019 Canada Winter Games, to be hosted by Red Deer from Feb. 15 to March 3.

The 2019 Canada Winter Games Host Society will also be announcing the names of the Red Deer torchbearers at the unveiling.
