2 Wetaskiwin suspects charged with second degree murder for killing of Ponoka man

RCMP have charged two individuals with second degree murder after a male victim from Ponoka was killed in Wetaskiwin on July 8.

RCMP have charged two individuals with second degree murder after a male victim from Ponoka was killed in Wetaskiwin on July 8.

At about 8:25 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a report of an altercation on 40 Avenue east of 56 Street in Wetaskiwin. When first responders arrived on scene they located a male with life-threatening injuries.

The victim, identified as Antwon Bull, 19, of Ponoka, succumbed to his injuries later that evening in the hospital.

The investigation resulted in the Alberta RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit charging two males with one count each of second degree murder.

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, a 27-year-old male and a 20-year-old, both from Wetaskiwin were remanded into custody.

Their next appearance has been set for 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court.
