Alberta added 26 new COVID-19-related deaths over the past seven days, according to the government of Alberta website.

The province has had a total of 5,536 deaths related to the virus since the outset of the pandemic.

Between Jan. 31 and Feb.6 , Alberta reported 435 new cases. There were 622 people — down 61 — in hospital infected with the virus province-wide, including 19 — down three — in the ICU.

In the Central Zone, there are 57 people in hospital infected with the virus, with two in the ICU.

According to geospatial mapping on the provincial government’s COVID-19 website, the Central zone has a seven-day new case rate of eight per 100,000, below the provincial average of 9.8. There were 38 new cases over the past seven days in the zone. There have been 64,528 total cases in the region, with 716 COVID-19-related deaths.

Calgary had 7.4 cases per 100,000 over the past seven days, while Edmonton has 13.1. The South zone sits at 9.3 and the North zone is 9.8.
