Innisfail RCMP arrest 34-year-old male after highway road rage incident

The incident occurred on Highway 2 on Tuesday morning

RCMP have arrested a suspect after a road rage incident on Highway 2, north of Innisfail.

Innisfail RCMP responded Tuesday morning to an incident where a gun was pointed from a vehicle at another driver near Antler Hill.

Police attempted to stop the suspect near Highway 54, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle was located a short time later after it crashed into a field. The lone occupant suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Tyrone Schnieder, 34, remains in custody.

He is charged with pointing a firearm, flight from police, dangerous driving, obstructing a police officer, identity fraud, possession of stolen property, possessing counterfeit currency and failure to comply.

Schnieder will appear in Red Deer provincial court on Wednesday.
