47th Canadian Finals Rodeo on track for November

The 47th running of the Canadian Finals Rodeo is on track.

The national rodeo championship brings together 120 of the world’s best rodeo athletes and will be hosted for the third time at the Centrium in Red Deer from Nov. 3-7.

Last year’s CFR was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This is our opportunity to come together again as a rodeo community to celebrate the best in our sport,” said Jeff Robson, general manager, CPRA in a news release.

“The last couple of years were a challenge, but in true cowboy fashion, we have rebounded, and look forward to an amazing CFR47.”

According to a release, 71,000-plus rodeo fans attended the seven performances in 2019 and the six-day event contributes an economic impact of over $30 million to Central Alberta.

All-In Tickets Packages, which include full access to all six CFR rodeo performances, go on public sale on Sept. 9 at 10:00 a.m. (MDT). Individual performance tickets will follow, going on sale Sept. 23 at 10:00 a.m. (MDT).
