Red Deer RCMP have arrested a suspect in connection to the armed robbery of a downtown bank.
A citizen called to report a suspicious person who matched the suspect’s description shortly after the robbery happened on Tuesday afternoon.
RCMP arrested a 62-year-old man from Red Deer without incident and he remains in custody until a bail hearing is set.
Red Deer RCMP had responded to a call of an armed robbery at a bank on 50th Avenue in downtown Red Deer. The robber had threatened staff and obtained cash before fleeing on foot.
The suspect’s identity and court date were not provided by Red Deer RCMP.
