Acknowledging missing and murdered Indigenous women

A rally to bring awareness to to missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, 2 spirit plus, and transgender victims will be held March 27 at Coronation Park starting at 12 p.m.

Participants are asked to wear red, bring signage, or show support at home by hanging a red dress in a window or driveway.

Red dresses symbolize the many missing and murdered Indigenous women and pays respect to the grieving families who are searching and longing for their loved ones to return home some day.

Anyone who attends is asked to adhere to COVID-19 prevention measures such as social distancing and wearing a mask. Masks and gloves will be provided. Those who feel sick should stay home.

The rally is part of the MMIWG2ST movement and rallies will be hosted across Canada.
