Red Deer will be hosting a “Recovery Summit” this fall.
On Monday, Red Deer city council accepted a $50,000 provincial grant to host a one-day conference on the recovery model of treating addictions in Red Deer in October.
Details and the conference date will be released soon. Registration is anticipated to open mid- to late August.
Also in Monday’s city council meeting, a city sponsorship policy was given a couple minor updates. And a Land Use Bylaw site exception was given final approval for a lot off Taylor Drive.
Following a public hearing, city council passed second and third reading for a bylaw amendment for a site exception at 6970 Taylor Drive, which will allow for an apartment and assisted living complex development applications to be filed in future.
