Adele Poratto seeks UCP nomination in Red Deer-South

Adele Poratto has thrown her hat in the ring as a United Conservative Party candidate in Red Deer-South.

The local entrepreneur, business owner and educator hopes to show her deep passion for the region as a candidate.

“It’s one thing to talk a big game about servant leadership, but it’s much more difficult to actually embody those principles,” she said.

“I have served on over 26 volunteer boards in Red Deer and more in the Central Alberta region. My passion for our community runs deep. That’s why I know I am best positioned to bring our community’s voice to the table in Edmonton.”

There is no date yet scheduled for the Red Deer-South nomination contest.

Poratto is hopeful is selected as the candidate she can help push forward the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre expansion project.

She has successfully built and operated two businesses in Red Deer, along with an astounding record of community volunteerism.

“I will champion any and every initiative that makes life more affordable for Albertans, especially for those on fixed incomes,” she said.

Poratto also hopes to help make life more affordable for the everyday Red Deerians and plans to fight to do so.

“Having ideas in politics is easy, but getting them across the line is hard,” she said.

She will challenge current UCP MLA Jason Stephan his seat in Red Deer-South.
