Anyone wanting a say about how the Red Deer College Arts Centre is run can apply for a position on its advisory committee.

The group is seeking to fill a member-at-large position, representing the community, for a two-year term.

In the early 1980s, RDC constructed the auditorium space for its expanding performing arts curriculum. The City of Red Deer contributed financially toward its construction.

In 1983, the two parties entered into an agreement to provide community organizations and the public reasonable access to the facility and to promote its use for the benefit of both the community and college.

What followed was the establishment of a community advisory committee.

Meetings are held no more than once a month and committee members do not receive any remuneration. Expressions of interest will be considered and voted upon by committee representatives.

Expressions of interest may be submitted to CultureMailbox@reddeer.ca by Feb. 14. Please indicate why you are interested in joining the committee, the experience you bring, and why you would make a good representative.
