The Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce is determined to see the city’s major trade show — Agri-Trade Equipment Expo — proceed as planned this fall.
“One of my main priorities is to make sure Agri-Trade goes in November, because that’s huge for central Alberta,” said chamber CEO Rick More.
“I’m trying to get an audience with the premier and Dr. Deena Hinshaw (Alberta’s chief medical officer of health). I met with our MLAs. We have a proactive plan.”
In past years, the trade show has generated $275 million in economic activity for the Red Deer area, including $200 million in sales at the show and $75 million in spinoffs, such as hotel stays and restaurant bills.
