Farmers will have an opportunity to interact with cutting-edge high-tech Ag players and experience the latest innovations first-hand this summer.
Olds College and Agri-Trade have partnered to produce AgSmart – a new agriculture event.
Taking place August 13 and 14, 2019 at Olds College, AgSmart isn’t just a trade show. It’s a hands-on demonstration and education exposition focused on technology and data across the agriculture sector – how to gather it, and how to use it to enhance productivity and profits.
On the evening of Aug. 13, the networking continues when AgSmart hosts the Great Albertan BBQ, a celebration of Alberta’s agriculture industry.
The barbecue will feature a 90-minute concert by country singer Drew Gregory.
“It’s always a pleasure to be able to mix the music career with the farming career. I have enjoyed great success in music through continued education and adapting when necessary and farming is no different. Events such as AgSmart are so important as a young farmer to stay ahead of the game in an increasingly technical profession,” said Gregory.
His music is infused with a down home realism, a gritty honesty and vibrant sense of rootedness that comes from years spent working the land as a farmer – an aspect of his life that is deeply connected to his talent as a musician, singer and songwriter.
