Alberta Blue Cross shares summer safety tips

Alberta Blue Cross is offering safety tip to help residents beat the heat this summer.

“For two summers, the COVID-19 pandemic impacted vacation plans for many Albertans,” Alberta Blue Cross said in a news release Monday.

“Now, opportunities to travel, participate in large social gatherings and attend festivals and outdoor concerts have finally returned and Alberta Blue Cross is sharing tips to help Albertans safely enjoy their summer.”

The organization offers the following safety tips:

  • Stay cool and hydrated;
  • Practise sun safety;
  • Be safe in and on water;
  • Avoid pesky bug bites;
  • Play safe;
  • Wear a helmet on bicycles, skateboard, motorized off-road vehicles, etc.;
  • Keep your pets safe;
  • Be prepared for any situation camping;
  • Keep fresh food;
  • Respect nature and wildlife;
  • Keep an eye on the sky;
  • Protect your home;
  • Don’t forget travel insurance.
