The provincial government will provide $50,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Red Deer to support facility costs for Camp Alexo.

The club, which is part of Youth HQ, announced the funding Friday.

“The support … will enable us to ensure that Camp Alexo is operating and ready to welcome back the hundreds of children and youth who look forward to camp opportunities and experiences throughout the year,” states Rob Lewis, Youth HQ executive director.

Camp Alexo serves more than 2,200 children, youth and members of community groups throughout central Alberta every year.
