The Government of Alberta will host three telephone town halls in the coming days, as the province prepares for its 2021 budget.

A town hall will be hosted for communities in the central region, including Red Deer, Edmonton and other areas north of Calgary, on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Minister of Finance Travis Toews will participate in the telephone town halls.

“We are developing Alberta’s budget in a time of incredible challenge, which makes hearing from all Albertans even more important,” Toews said in a statement Saturday morning.

“Our mid-year fiscal update showed some improvement but the road to recovery is long. Over the past year Alberta has been hit hard, but we are also the most resilient province in the nation. I look forward to hearing from Albertans as we tackle these challenges together.”

Communities north of Edmonton will have a town hall on Monday. Calgary and the communities in southern Alberta will have their town hall on Thursday.

Albertans can find more details and register for the telephone town halls online. Albertans are also encouraged to participate in an online budget survey by Dec. 4.
