Alberta man charged for alleged sexual offences against children

An Edmonton man has been charged for alleged sexual assault offences against children and Alberta RCMP are seeking any possible additional victims or witnesses.

Brad Dahr, 53, is charged with two counts of sexual interference, voyeurism, sexual exploitation, luring a child, possession and distribution of child pornography and making sexually explicit material available to a child.

This past November, Vegreville RCMP received reports of alleged sexual offences that had taken place between 2018 and 2020.

Vegreville RCMP worked in partnership with the Alberta RCMP Serious Crimes Branch Provincial Investigative Support Unit to further the investigation into these allegations. The Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Unit of ALERT and the Zebra Child Protection Centre also provided assistance during this investigation.

All of the offences involve teenage female victims who were known to the accused.

On Thursday, police executed a search warrant at an Edmonton residence and arrested Brad Dahr. The search resulted in the seizure of various electronic devices, documents and clothing.

Following a judicial hearing, Dahr was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in Vegreville Provincial Court on May 3.

RCMP are continuing their investigation and are asking the public to come forward with any similar type incidents in the following areas across Western Canada:

Edmonton, Vegreville, Drumheller, Beiseker, and Beauvallon; the Lower Mainland, B.C.; and Yellowknife, N.W.T.

In order to eliminate the possibility of other victims, Alberta RCMP are distributing a photograph of the accused at approximately the time of these offences.

Dahr, who has also been widely known in the above areas as “Pastor Brad,” is described as 260 pounds, six feet tall, and bald with a light brown fringe and blue eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vegreville RCMP at 780-631-2750 or your local police.
