Alberta NDP helping former Wildrose MLA Joe Anglin become Independent

Central Alberta legislature member Joe Anglin may now be sitting alone in the legislature, but he won’t be lonely.

EDMONTON — Central Alberta legislature member Joe Anglin may now be sitting alone in the legislature, but he won’t be lonely.

NDP Leader Rachel Notley says her party is helping the former Wildrose member learn the ropes of sitting as an Independent.

Notley says Anglin has agreed with the New Democrats on many issues and his voice needs to be heard in the legislature.

Notley says the NDP hasn’t offered Anglin a seat in the party’s caucus.

Anglin has called himself a “free agent” and says he will consider joining any party.

Anglin quit the Wildrose caucus last weekend, saying the party executive has lost touch with grassroots members.
