Alberta Parks announced Thursday plans for opening reservations for the 2021 camping season.

Reservations will start on March 4, for bookings up to 90 days in advance of the arrival date. Launch dates will be staggered by region, with the south area of the province starting at 9 a.m., central at 1 p.m., and the northern area at 3 p.m.

Comfort camping reservations open on March 5 and backcountry camping reservations are already open.

Alberta Parks also announced a number of new COVID-19 protocols for the season, including closing shower facilities and no shared picnic areas. Group camping is also closed until Alberta Health Services announces eased gathering restrictions.
