Alberta Party chooses oil drilling engineer as candidate for Calgary Foothills

The Alberta Party has chosen a candidate for the riding of Calgary Foothills.

CALGARY — The Alberta Party has chosen a candidate for the riding of Calgary Foothills.

Mark Taylor is an oil and gas drilling engineer and says he’s in the race to win it.

Premier Rachel Notley called the byelection for Sept. 3 for the riding that former premier Jim Prentice held.

Prentice won his seat in the May 5th provincial election, but resigned when Notley’s NDP won a huge majority.

Alberta Party Leader Greg Clark says the NDP seems more concerned about riding on the coattails of the federal NDP and not on its own record.

Clark believes the NDP will have a tough time in the byelection.
