EDMONTON — An Alberta provincial court judge has been charged with impaired driving.
Paul Sully serves in Edmonton as a part-time judge.
Alberta Justice officials will not release details of the arrest or the specific allegations.
Greg Lepp, head of the department’s prosecution service, says a prosecutor from the Saskatchewan Crown will handle the case.
Sully was named a provincial court judge in 1998 and was reappointed this March as a part-time judge, for a term that expires in April 2016.
It’s not immediately clear whether Sully will have to step down while the case is being handled.
