COCHRANE — RCMP say they have arrested a teen from southern Alberta after a photo of a boy posing with gun ammunition was posted on social media.

Police say the photo posted Friday on Snapchat came with a caption warning students not to attend Cochrane High School on Monday.

A 15-year-old faces one count of uttering threats and is to appear in Cochrane provincial court next week.

Mounties say he has been released to a parent and is restricted from having contact with firearms or ammunition.

The suspect is allowed to use his personal computer for school purposes until June 23.
