Alberta RCMP issue 68 distracted driving tickets during long weekend

Sixty-eight drivers throughout Alberta were ticketed for distracted driving this past weekend.

Alberta RCMP conducted enforcement initiatives focused on distracted driving throughout the Heritage Day long weekend.

“The RCMP reminds all road users that distracted driving can be extremely dangerous. Drivers and riders must always make sure that their focus is solely on the road,” police said in a press release Thursday.

Police issued 63 tickets during last year’s August long weekend in Alberta’s RCMP jurisdictions.
