The Alberta RCMP had a busy Heritage Day long weekend.

Between Friday and Monday, the RCMP issued 2,559 traffic tickets and 420 warnings across the province.

Overall, 1,972 individuals were ticketed for speeding, with 34 people charged for impaired driving and six people receiving roadside suspensions.

One driver on Highway 1 near Brooks was clocked at 195 km/h in a 110 km/h zone. Another, near Lake Lousie, was travelling 152 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.
