Province reports 412 new COVID-19 cases

Alberta reported 412 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.

The province now has 5,521 cases with 516 people in hospital, including 100 in intensive care. Three new deaths were reported bring the provincial toll to 3,204 since the pandemic began.

Alberta has the most cases of any province except Quebec, which has 7,669. Alberta leads the country in hospitalizations, followed by B.C. with 376. Quebec has 195 people in hospital.

Overall, the central zone has 897 active COVID cases. There are 115 people in hospital, including nine in intensive care.

Red Deer has 152 active cases, down from 193 on Monday.

The City of Lacombe has 56 active cases, Mountain View County has 60, Red Deer County has 50, Clearwater County has 46, Lacombe County has 40, Sylvan Lake has 39, Olds has 31 and County of Stettler has 16.

Wetaskiwin County, including Maskwacis, has 113 active cases, while Ponoka, including East Ponoka County, has 11 and Rimbey, including West Ponoka County and part of Lacombe County, has nine.

The City of Camrose has 71 active cases, Camrose County has 26, Kneehill County has 21 and Drumheller has 13.
