Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association holds convention in Red Deer

Event will be held May 31 at Radisson Hotel

The Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association will hold its 99th-annual general meeting and convention in Red Deer on Friday.

The event at the Radisson Hotel will include a morning talk about using digital tools for everyday reporting, delivered by Dan Petty, digital director of audience development at MediaNews Group.

There will be an afternoon annual general meeting and board elections, following by the awards of excellence and banquet.

The not-for-profit trade association represents more than 100 member newspapers throughout Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
