Alberta’s NDP says it received strong support in the first quarter of 2022 with more than $1 million in donations and over 1,300 first-time donors.

“This is such a critical time as we work for change in our province. My team and I at Alberta’s NDP are unified in the goal of a brighter future that ensures families have access to healthcare, good jobs, and where we can restore Albertans’ trust in their government,” said NDP leader Rachel Notley in a statement.

“I am so grateful to the Albertans who continue to show us their support, and those who are choosing to donate for the first time.”

Elections Alberta released first-quarter results on Wednesday, and Alberta’s NDP was the only party reporting all donations for the quarter. Donations amounted to $1,037,511.32 which came from almost 11,000 different donors, including 1,337 new donors.

“We’re proud to be reporting 100 per cent of our donations for the quarter, and we are the only major party to be doing so. It’s clear that Albertans recognize we’re in the home stretch to the election, whether that happens in six months or six weeks, and they’re ready for a change,” said Alberta NDP provincial secretary Brandon Stevens.

According to Elections Alberta, the UCP reported $887,974.49 worth of contributions in Q1.
