The 2010 Red Deer Kinsmen Dream Home is far from being just another average family home.

The two-storey structure at 150 Sutherland Close in the new Southbrook subdivision has been appraised at more than $700,000.

As impressive as the price tag is, Kinsmen Dream Home chair J.C. Levenne said it’s the number of creative elements inside that really make this house one of a kind.

“All the little features really add up,” he said.

Elements in the 1,836-square-foot home include a unique floor plan, a John Deere theme two-car attached garage, massage chairs in the theatre room, a fireplace next to the jet tub in the en suite bathroom and a flat screen TV that is hidden by a piece of art.

“The painting actually rises up and displays the flat screen behind it,” Levenne explained.

True-Line Contracting Ltd. built the home that features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a developed basement with an audio and visually equipped media room, a steam shower in the master bathroom, vaulted ceilings, an upper-level balcony that overlooks the kitchen and main room, hardwood flooring, carpet, in-floor heating in the basement and garage, a fenced-in landscaped yard and two completely covered sun decks.

The home will be open for public viewing on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. starting on Oct. 30.

For the two weeks leading up to final draw on Dec. 31, however, the home will be open every day from 1 to 5 p.m. with the only exception being Christmas day.

An early bird draw will be held on Nov. 30 for a $5,000 trip to Oahu, Hawaii.

Other prizes include a ride-on lawn mower, a boat and trailer package from Cars RV and Marine, a riser TV, a trip to Disneyland, a Caribbean cruise, two massage chairs, an island barbecue, a two-man infrared sauna and two jewelry packages valued at $3,000 each.

Levenne said they hope to raise $300,000 with this year’s Dream Home Lottery. The service club will distribute the funds between the Central Alberta Women’s Shelter, the Penhold Multiplex, the Red Deer Royals, Red Deer Pond Hockey and Red Deer Minor Hockey, Red Deer Food Bank, Red Deer Regional Hospital Foundation, Red Deer College, Family Services of Central Alberta, Red Deer Youth and Volunteer Centre, and the Central Alberta chapter of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Starting Oct. 30, tickets for the 32nd local Kinsmen Dream Home Lottery will be on sale for $100 each or three for $250. They can be purchased at the dream home, at all Red Deer and area Servus Credit Union branches, at Buy and Sell By Photo in Parkland Mall, by calling 403-356-3900 or 1-866-559-6756 and online at www.reddeerkinsmen.com starting Oct. 30.

The home will be awarded unfurnished but will include all the electronics.
