A Clearwater County man will appear in court in Rocky Mountain House on Wednesday as he faces charges connected to the death of an Ontario woman on June 22.

Rocky Mountain House RCMP say that 20-year-old Trisha Wise was walking on a gravel road north of Highway 12 and 22 km northeast of Rocky when she was struck by a SUV. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe she had been involved in an argument with the driver and had got out to walk.

Christopher William Ross, 28, is charged with impaired driving causing death and causing a fatal collision while the alcohol in his bloodstream exceeded the legal limit of .08.

RCMP say Ross’s blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit.

Ross remains in police custody.
