The Alberta Prairies Life Enrichment Training Studio is looking for more applicants for its certificate course which is due to start later this month.
In a press release, the organization said the 12-week certificate course titled Life Enrichment Support Worker Program Certificate Course is set to start on Aug. 28. It is designed for those interested in starting a career as a support worker to work with vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens.
“Alberta has been experiencing a crisis due to a lack of Support Workers for our most vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens including our elderly/frail, individuals who are living with special needs, our citizens struggling with poverty, homelessness, addictions, mental health concerns, chronic medical health concerns etc,” APLETS said in a release.
The course is available in person and also offered virtually for those outside of Red Deer. The number of in-person spots available is limited.
Students who require student financing for the tuition-based program are able to apply for funding through Alberta and Canada Student Aid.
