When artists go to battle, they bring their brushes, palette knives or any non-mechanical instrument.
On March 16, artists will compete in Art Battle Red Deer, a live painting tournament showcasing local artists.
Painters will have 20 minutes to create their best work. Meanwhile, patrons will move around the easels and closely watch the creative process.
At the end of the round, the audience votes on their favourite painting. As well, a silent auction will allow people to bid and take home their favourite piece of art.
The event takes place from 7 to 11 p.m. at Bo’s Bar and Grill, 2310 50th Ave. Tickets can be purchased at artbattle.ticketfly.com.
