Juno Award-winning one-man blues band Steve Hill will perform Friday at the Velvet Olive in Red Deer.

Hill is considered one of Canada’s most prolific and original guitarists. He’s also a singer, drummer, harmonica player and songwriter.

Hill has won eight Maple Blues Awards, as well as receiving the Juno for Blues Album of the Year in 2015, for being a one-man rocking blues band.

In his 27-year career, he has performed more than 2,500 concerts across Canada and Europe, often sharing the stage with big name performers, such as Ray Charles, B.B. King, and ZZ Top and others.

With 11 recordings under his belt, Hill has explored everything from rock, country and folk, while fusing these different genres of music with his first love, the blues.
