Baich wins mayoral seat in Rocky Mountain House

The Town of Rocky has released unofficial election results showing that Debbie Baich is the town’s new mayor.

The Town of Rocky has released unofficial election results showing that Debbie Baich is the town’s new mayor.

Baich received 744 votes on Monday, compared to 684 for the incumbent mayor, Tammy Burke, who was unseated, and 252 for Jeanette Maria De Boer.

Rocky Mountain House town council will have six councillors. According to the unofficial results, these will be: Len Phillips (937 votes), David Auld (897), Shane Boniface (796), Tina Hutchison (748), Marley Capraro (744), and Merrin Fraser (718).

Unsuccessful council candidates were: Barry McQueen (662), Glen Waskewitch (653), Michelle Narang (638), Faith Marie Chamberlain (605), and Ralph Herzog (577).

The newly elected mayor and council will be sworn in on Oct. 26.
