Red Deer City RCMP are searching for a bandit who brandished a handgun while holding up the Gaetz Avenue Liquor World on Thursday night.

Police say a masked man carrying a handgun walked into the liquor store at 3417 50th Ave. and demanded cash around 7:15 p.m.

The man left with an undisclosed amount of money. Police are unsure of his method of escape and the direction he fled.

The suspect is described as Caucasian weighing about 90 to 95 kg (210 to 220 pounds) and about 1.8 metres (six feet) in height.

He was wearing a black balaclava, black hoodie and black pants.
